People, Plants & Planet: Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals

People, Plants & Planet: Supporting the UN Sustainable Development Goals

At Kinvara Skincare, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword—it’s at the heart of everything we do. Inspired by the United Nations’ Sustainability Goals, we’ve committed to supporting a healthier, more equitable world for People, Plants, and Planet. Here’s how we align our practices with these vital global objectives:

People

We prioritise the well-being and equality of our employees, customers, and communities by aligning with these goals:

  • Good Health & Well-Being (Goal 3): Our team enjoys fair working conditions, work-life balance, and perks like unplanned half-days to recharge. For our customers, our products are formulated with natural, organic ingredients that nourish the skin without harmful additives like artificial colours, fragrances, or carcinogens. By focusing on ingredients grown without GMOs or synthetic chemicals, we create products that are as safe for the skin as they are for the planet.

  • Gender Equality (Goal 5): Kinvara Skincare is committed to gender equality both in our workplace and throughout our supply chain ensuring the equal treatment of all employees. By sourcing ingredients and working with partners who share our values, we promote fair practices and equality at every step.

  • Decent Work & Economic Growth (Goal 8): As a proud member of Guaranteed Irish, we champion quality, sustainable jobs in Ireland. We offer our team fair wages, safe working conditions, and opportunities for training and career advancement. By employing people from local communities and sourcing materials and ingredients locally whenever possible, we actively contribute to regional economies and support Irish suppliers and businesses.

  • Reduced Inequalities (Goal 10): We take pride in our fair salaries and ethical sourcing practices. Partnering with Fair Trade suppliers ensures that farmers and producers are paid fairly, reducing economic inequality. Additionally, we embrace diversity and inclusion through our marketing efforts and by offering products suitable for a wide range of skin types and tones.

  • Sustainable Cities & Communities (Goal 11): Kinvara Skincare is deeply committed to engaging meaningfully with our local community. By sourcing local materials and ingredients where possible, we minimise transportation-related carbon emissions and reduce our environmental impact. Our products are formulated with non-toxic, environmentally friendly ingredients that are kind to both skin and nature. We are also conscious of our packaging waste. All our products come in 100% recyclable packaging, and we reuse boxes for shipping to further reduce waste. We encourage our customers to recycle containers after use and adopt sustainable practices in their own lives.

Plants

Our commitment to nature extends to the preservation of life on land:

  • Life on Land (Goal 15): Since partnering with Greenspark in 2022, we’ve planted over 7 hectares of trees. For every order placed, we plant a tree, helping to offset carbon emissions and support reforestation efforts. Additionally, our commitment to vegan and cruelty-free practices ensures that none of our products contain animal-derived ingredients or are tested on animals. We’re certified by PETA as animal test-free and vegan.

Planet

We work tirelessly to reduce our environmental impact and promote sustainable practices for a healthier planet:

  • Responsible Consumption & Production (Goal 12): Sustainability is embedded in every aspect of our product design and production. Our products are engineered for efficiency and longevity—from precisely measured pumps to formulations that require less frequent repurchasing. For instance, our anhydrous products like Precious Facial Oil and Elemental Exfoliating Powder are concentrated and long-lasting, reducing waste while delivering maximum benefits. We prioritise using organic ingredients wherever possible, which minimises environmental pollution and supports biodiversity. Organic farming avoids GMOs, synthetic fertilisers, and herbicides, protecting both the planet and the skin.

  • Climate Action (Goal 13): Taking action against climate change is integral to our mission. Many of our sustainability efforts intersect with this goal, including:

    • Sourcing organic, sustainably grown ingredients.

    • Packaging products in 100% recyclable materials, with some incorporating recycled content.

    • Partnering with like-minded suppliers to reduce carbon emissions.

    • Minimising transportation emissions by working with local businesses.

    • Reusing shipping materials and eliminating plastic in our boxes.

    • Supporting environmental causes such as Greenspark and Elephant Conservation Sumatran initiatives.

  • Life Below Water (Goal 14): Protecting marine ecosystems is a priority for Kinvara Skincare. Through our partnership with Greenspark, we help remove plastic pollution from oceans and rivers. For every order placed, one plastic bottle’s worth of waste is collected from the ocean. We’re also proud supporters of initiatives like “Beat the Microbead” to keep harmful plastics out of our waterways.

Driving Sustainability Forward

At Kinvara Skincare, sustainability isn’t just a goal—it’s part of our DNA. We continually seek new ways to align our practices with the UN Sustainability Goals, ensuring that we care for our customers, communities, and the planet. Together, we can create a healthier, more sustainable world for future generations.
